old, to dance with us on Wednesday nights, We especially encourage dancers
who have lost a dance partner to come and get back in the swing of things.

a round dance class is being taught from 7 PM to 8 PM so square dancing starts

Tai chi and Qigong Class Hours - every Saturday morning from 10:30 AM to 12:30 AM Instructor - Michael Guen Ph.D., L.Ac.runs an acupuncture and herbal medicine clinic in Santa Rosa. In 1973 he began studying Wu style tai ji quan, then a couple years later began learning with Ginsoon Chu, a disciple of 4th generation Yang family tai ji quan patriarch Yang Shouzhong, and eventually in Hong Kong with Grandmaster Yang himself. With his knowledge of Chinese medicine, and experience as both a professional health practitioner and martial art competitor, Michael possesses thorough knowledge in the various aspects of Yang style training. He is also 5th generation lineage holder in the BA GUA QUAN (Eight Trigrams Fist) tradition under 4th generation patriarch Gong Baozai.
Description of group - Personal one-on-one instruction followed by group practice. Traditional two-person exercises strengthen the body increasing balance and awareness, improving overall effectiveness and presence in life. Beginners and experienced, young and old welcome.
Testimonial - “Dr. Guen’s instruction is excellent for raising body awareness and kinesthetic intelligence. His lessons are delivered in little information packets, overall helping me feel balanced and grounded. In my first lessons, I became more aware of my abdomen area. When I’m not breathing in my abdomen, I’m not focused on the present moment. And Michael is able to give accurate feedback in those moments when I’m daydreaming. Before receiving instruction from Michael, I didn’t know there were depths of concentration. I am now aware of another type of concentration that I hadn’t experienced. Learning tai chi is unlike learning a sport because the attention I use to concentrate on many body parts at the same time ends up turning inward, having a very calming effect.
